I bought the HBP6 to use for my home remodel - nailers, including flooring, etc. Day 2 the unit shut down and tripped the thermal breaker and would not run after resetting. Phone support helped me diagnose the problem as a piece of assembly debris (small chunk of paint or glue) being stuck in the check valve seat so I was able to clear it myself. Day 3 another problem, at the same location, the plastic overpressure line exploded from the fitting because it was installed without a metal insert inside the line (only had the ferrule). Phone support said they'd ship me the parts but they didn't ship them overnight, so I had to go rent another compressor for the weekend. I hope that after this issue is resolved I'll get good service from this unit. But be forewarned. I try to buy tools that last a long time - that's why I didn't buy a compressor from the big box stores, but I'm not sure my strategy has paid off. I am 70 years old, and retired. All of my tools are for play, but I do like to buy the best! I have a very large, and excellent, Quincy 2 stage upright stationary compressor, a very nice 5HP Quincy belt drive, slow speed, 20 gallon portable, an EC-12 Hitachi (getting quite heavy for me to lug around), and a very old Champion (wheelbarrow style). This little Rol-Air is absolutely perfect for me. I can lift it if I need to, but in most cases I can roll it instead. Convenience is what this is all about, and in my opinion this little Rol-Air wins five stars for convenience. The unit is larger than I needed but is a quality built unit. The unit has more than enough CFM's for my needs , impact guns and spray guns. I found most of the units I looked at were of poor quality. This is a great compressor. Packaged in a box covering a wooden crate. Minimal assembly , you have to add the oil and install the 2 air filters. Ran the break in as suggested in the manual. Shut the unit off. Closed the petcock and restarted. The unit shut down at the expected 135 psi. I lowered tank pressure with my blow gun and at 100 psi the pump started up to refill the tank. Easy to use compressor but is not a unit I plan on moving often. Perfect for moving around my garage but not something i would try and use as a portable for in home repairs. I am impressed with the quality of the unit. The other plus was the unit is quiet... This review is from: Industrial Air IL1682066.MN 20-Gallon Belt Driven Air Compressor with V-Twin Cylinder (Tools & Home Improvement) Arrived in a crate so after a few minutes with a crowbar (or a screwdriver with a hammer) I had it unpacked. It came empty but did have the oil and air filters with it so simply followed the instructions on filling the oil and installing the air filters. However, when I turned on the compressor for the recommended 30 minute warm up period I discover that the belt was WAY loose. So I removed the fan cover, and had to loosen the bolts holding down the motor so I could slide it over to tighten the belt. There's actually instructions on how to tighten the belt so that's all I did. Once I had the belt tight it has worked out great! Just the right size for my different needs, mostly automotive, but works well for the occasionally odd ball project as well. Also I'm very pleased with how quite it is. I already had a Maxus 1 gal compressor (EX1001) and a Maxus 4 gal (EX8016) when I bought the Grip-Rite. The Grip-Rite has instantly become my favorite. It's really light, obviously. It's also really, really quiet; it's much quieter than the similar size Maxus I have. Instead of thinking of it as a noise heard all over the neighborhood, it's more like a substantial hum - not unpleasant to be around, even right next to it. And, unlike the two Maxus compressors, the regulator is easy to adjust, and once you adjust it it stays adjusted (and doesn't drift all over the place like the others I have do). On the project I used it for I got about 10 shots on a 15 ga nailer. I also needed to use a framing nailer for just a few nails, and it was easiest to just try out the GR100, so I did. This review is from: Grip-Rite GR100 1HP 1 Gallon Portable Compressor (Tools & Home Improvement) i fix town homes and it doesn't blow fuses. it keeps up as long as you don't go crazy nailing .. just remember it not a 2 1/2 hp 3gal. compressor . it starts at 105psi and stops at 135psi so a 2 1/2 trim nailer works just fine . i get about 10 to 13 shots before recovery. it's light 50 sec. to fill 35 sec. to recover I LOVE IT !!!!
